About Travis

Travis Tranel, a 5th generation farmer, grew up on a family dairy farm in southern Grant County near Cuba City. From the early age of eight through his high school years he learned about hard work, dedication, and the importance of strong family values while working on the family farm.

These lessons prepared Travis well for the unexpected responsibilities that resulted when his father was diagnosed with cancer when Travis was only a sophomore in high school.

Seeing that his father was no longer able to follow his dream and keep the family farm running, Travis stepped up and took on the added responsibility of running and managing the farm.

Steph and Travis After graduating from high school Travis had to choose between taking over the family farm or pursuing his higher education. Never being one to let adversity get in his way, he chose to do both. Travis decided to pursue his educational dreams and attended Loras College in nearby Dubuque, Iowa, where he graduated with degrees in Finance and Economics. While attending college Travis took over and built the farm into what it is today.

The farm, which operates under the name Tranel Farms USA, incorporated in 2007 and now employs 5 people. The farm ships over 2 million pounds of grade A milk annually.

In addition to Tranel Farms USA , Travis, who has always had a love and a passion for business and entrepreneurship, also owns Fleege Tranel LLC, a custom baling business. Travis married his high school sweetheart Stephanie in June of 2008.
